Shin Ippon Kumite
Kissaki-Kai’s revision of the out-moded and out-dated common form of Ippon and Gohon Kumite as taught by many of the Japanese-based systems.
These do NOT create skill in defending against realistic common forms of attack.
They do NOT employ the important ‘Rules of Combat’ and completely omit many frequently used forms of attack - no chokes and strangles, no attacks fromt he rear, no hooking or upper-cuts, strikes and so on.
The unrealistic distances employed, the use of only single punch attacks, the
retreating directly backwards in front of the assailant , the ignoring of the use of vital point strikes, the lack of use of major throws; all lead to a program designed for failure!
