Press Release following recent Police Academy training in Belgium, Oct 09:

"As a former Correctional Officer,  I would like to take this opportunity to tell anyone in law enforcement to take a reality check and go to one of Mr. Morris's seminars. The defensive tactics we were taught at the academy were ludricrous!   Even someone as inexperienced in self defense, as I was at the time, realized that the techniques we were being taught  would probably not work. After a few minutes into Mr. Morris's seminar I recognized that his techniques were real and could be used by anyone. I urge all law enforcement personal to come to one of Mr. Morris's seminars and  learn something that can save your life."

Testimonial received after a seminar in April 09

Congratulations to our LETS instructors, who successfully qualified during thecourse in Marlton, New Jersey 07:

L to R: Robbie Tennant, Guy Janssens, Philip Oakes, John Sawyer, Director Vince Morris, Mark Goldsworthy, Jerry Bomay, William Oehl, Thomas Gubala

Here are some snapshots of the course. Some of the training was done using protective suits to allow for more realism:

Above: Defences against knife attacks and disarming the attacker in a control position.

Left and below: Participants took it in turns to wear the protective suits. Those not practicing watched in order to analyse and critique the performance.

Below centre: Handcuffing techniques.

Right: Knife defence when backed against the wall.

More about LETS Int.:

For over 12 years the Belgian Police Academy has been training in LETS techniques, which are now incorporated into their regular training manual. The skills they learn at the seminars are in use on a daily basis.

Below: Defenses against armed assailants are being practiced.

Realistic scenario training is absolutely essential: Officers practice an arrest situation (left) and a vehicle extraction (below).

Another important aspect of the training involves hostage situations (below). All the techniques taught are based on the 'Rules of Combat'.

Right: Photos from a scenario-based, in-flight anti-terrorism training and aggression management skills course, developed for staff at Virgin Airlines.

Going out on patrol (left, with the LAPD) has been crucial for research. Further, the feedback from officers, who are using LETS techniques in their daily routine has proven their effectiveness and safety.
